Children’s portraits by South Australian artist, Rebecca Murray

Turn a memory into a family heirloom

Preserve a treasured memory in an original oil painting that can be passed down for generations.

I create original oil portraits from your photographs, thoughtfully bringing together the people, expressions and places that mean the most to you. I’ll guide you through choosing the right reference images, developing the composition and refining the painting.

The result is a deeply personal artwork, created to be treasured now and by generations to come.

Contact me to discuss a special commission of your own.

Tell me about the people, place or moment you have in mind. You’re welcome to send a few photographs to begin the conversation.

There’s no obligation.

Rebecca Murray

I’m a graduate of the Adelaide Central School of Art and live at Sellicks Beach, South Australia — the backdrop to many of my works.

I specialise in commissioned portraits of children, and most of my pieces begin as personalised commissions capturing family moments.

Every artist is driven by a passion that informs their work. For me, that passion is capturing fleeting, meaningful moments in the softness, richness and depth of oil on canvas.

My paintings record innocence, discovery, happiness and playfulness. They’re portraits that become family heirlooms to be treasured and passed down through generations.

A commission for
an AFL legend!

A oil painting portrait of Pippa and Gavin Wanganeen’s beautiful daughters. A cherished family heirloom that can be treasured for generations.

It was a great experience producing this private commission of Pippa and Gavin Wanganeen’s beautiful daughters. I hope it becomes a cherished family heirloom that can be treasured for generations.

Gavin is not only an AFL legend for his playing career with Essendon and Port Adelaide but is a talented artist. You can view his work here.

A thank you to
Mark Soderstrom

Rebecca Murray presents Mark Soderstrom with a gift of a portrait of his children as a thank you for his amazing fundraising efforts for the Childhood Cancer Association.

I was commissioned by the Childhood Cancer Association to create a portrait of Mark Soderstrom’s children as a thank you gift for his amazing fundraising efforts.

Mark created and organised the Spirit of SA Art Auction featuring artworks by local artists Mark Lobert and Phil Hodgson, raising over $100,000 for the Association.

Our family business, Brighter, has been supporting the Childhood Cancer Association for over 20 years and this is a personal highlight.
